DORMANCY WARNING: Red Dragon Venus fly traps are temperate perennials, and they require several months of winter dormancy. Plants purchased during this time may be small or appear to have no leaves at all.

Also known as ‘Dionaea Muscipula Akai Ryu’, Venus Flytrap ‘Red Dragon’ turns dark red in full sunlight and is a must-have for any flytrap collector. Akai Ryu is Japanese for “Red Dragon.” This is a gorgeous variety of Venus Flytrap that exhibits beautiful deep burgundy red traps and petioles throughout the year. Traps have golden green margins. Very young plants frequently show all red coloration. Juvenile or low lit plants may show some green color. This is a registered cultivar from Ron Gagliardo and the Atlanta Botanical Gardens.

This is a short note to let you know the plants arrived fine (on schedule) and look great! Thank you, especially that each had a double crown (B52 has some more smaller ones too). It seemed like a lot of moss, but I wet it all figuring you knew your material better, and happy I did, for the extra pots.
